Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles)

It is used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders.

Deep tissue massage techniques are used to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle “knots” or adhesions that can disrupt circulation, and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.

Knuckles, hands, elbows and forearms are used during a deep tissue massage.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is the application of hot stones being used to provide a heated massage.

Stones are usually made from basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. Heat has long been used to ease muscle tension and pain. It helps increase blood flow to the affected area. It may also reduce muscle spasms and increase flexibility and range of motion.

Hot Stone massage is a deeply relaxing therapy for mind, body and soul. It allows the muscles to relax by the heat which enables deeper massage to be performed to iron out the stress and tension.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy that is effective in promoting deep relaxation and creating homeostasis in the mind and body.

The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are certain points or “reflex areas” on the feet and hands that are connected energetically to specific organs and body systems through energy channels in the body.

Reflexology can help de-stress, relax and balance and is also very effective for a number of health conditions including digestive complaints, hormonal imbalances, chronic conditions like CFS, ME, MS, fibromyalgia and back problems.
